LOWER EASTSIDE DELI

Lower Eastside Deli sees the design, marketing and running of Kyson’s own delicatessen immediately below our offices. Utilising our permitted development rights we converted our former office space into A3 restaurant use. This presented the opportunity to develop own own skill-base in the form of a self-build project. The project went beyond mere ‘architecture’ in the simplest sense of the word, and instead considered all areas that facilitate successful building design; from company branding to marketing approach, from menu choice to food concept and presentation.

Inspiration was drawn from both the Jewish & Italian New York delis that were established in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Combined with modern barbeque cuisine a modern and fresh aesthetic was created.

Careful consideration was paid to the menu choice, ensuring consistency with the deli’s style and branding. An all-day breakfast including pancakes and waffles is available alongside numerous snacks, with a large proportion being vegetarian and gluten-free. A number of heavy loaded hot sandwiches are also available including the iconic Jacobs Ladder; an 18 hour, off the bone Beef Short Ribs served with barbeque sauce and apple slaw.
