Kyson & Co. is an award-winning architectural practice established in 2006, working across residential, commercial and hospitality projects throughout the UK.

Our work is not defined by a single architectural language. From contemporary architecture to more classical and contextual responses, each project is developed through a careful understanding of place, proportion, material and light. We believe good architecture should feel considered and enduring, with clarity in its design and restraint in its execution.

Design ambition is balanced by an understanding of how buildings are made, what they cost and how they will perform over time. Sustainability is approached in the same way, as an integral part of the architecture, informing decisions around orientation, fabric, materials, energy, longevity and the responsible use of resources rather than being applied as a separate layer.

Over twenty years in practice, our work has ranged from individual houses and sensitive heritage projects to commercial buildings and larger-scale developments. Across each, we bring together design, technical knowledge and practical judgement to create architecture that responds to its context, serves the people who use it and is built to endure.

Team

Kyson & Co. is led by founder Scott Kyson alongside directors Kyle Watts and Richard Bayliss, supported by a close-knit team of architects, designers and technical specialists.

The studio works collaboratively across architecture, planning and project delivery, bringing together different areas of experience while maintaining a consistent approach to design, detail and quality. Projects are developed collectively, with senior involvement maintained throughout the design and delivery process.

Over the past 20yrs the practice has grown through long-standing client relationships and a shared commitment to thoughtful, well-resolved architecture

Partners

Our work is supported by an established network of specialist consultants and advisors, bringing additional expertise to projects where required across heritage, landscape, ecology, arboriculture, highways, engineering, sustainability and cost consultancy.

We assemble the consultant team around the particular needs of each project, integrating specialist knowledge into the design, planning and delivery process while maintaining a coordinated approach and a clear focus on the client’s wider objectives.
