PROJECT 1003
Three Horseshoe Farm, High Beech
Set within the Green Belt beside Epping Forest, this 4,500 sq ft family home has been designed for a young creative family, with a low, lateral form that sits quietly within the surrounding landscape.
Existing trees and vegetation provide natural screening, allowing the architecture to become lighter and more transparent, with extensive glazing creating a strong connection between the interior and landscape without compromising privacy. The house responds to the sloping site through a series of cantilevered forms, expressed in a restrained palette of steel, English oak and reclaimed stone. Internally, the principal living spaces open seamlessly onto a sheltered courtyard, swimming pool and gym, before extending out towards the pasture land beyond.
