RICHARD BAYLISS Associate Director

During his career as an architect Richard has tailored his expertise towards high-end design within historical contexts. His detailed knowledge of England’s heritage and strong understanding of historical building techniques adds further dimension and integrity when approaching contemporary design. Richard works as lead designer on many of the practice’s high profile projects ranging from bespoke new-build houses including Red Post Hill and Hill Top House, to large scale office and hotel developments, to sensitive historic building repairs including a Grade II* listed Philip Webb development. With considerable experience working in some of England’s most historically sensitive locations; Cambridge, Windsor and Chelsea, Richard has learnt to embrace the complex relationships between the old and new, marrying them together to create architecture that is true to its time, yet affirming of the past.

As well as being a Chartered Architect Richard has also completed the SPAB Repair of Old Buildings Course, the RIBA Short Course in Building Conservation and is an Affiliate at the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.
