Start on site at Lambeth Mission
As we move out of the pandemic, we have received the fantastic news that development contracts for Lambeth Mission and St. Mary’s Church have now been signed and that the church has held its final service, with demolition of the existing outdated building imminent. Our exciting Hotel and Church scheme is now coming to fruition, set to be completed in 2023 by HG Construction, with the assistance of their delivery architect Aros.
On reflection of his experience with us, Revd. Dr. Andy Lyons was highly complementary – “Kyson were a great practice and team to work with whilst we developed a new church at Lambeth Mission and St. Mary's. We needed flexible accommodation but also a modern classic and inclusive design for our sanctuary - the design they produced met all our hopes and expectations”.
A modern day classic(al) at Lower MArsh
We have recently been granted planning permission for an extension to our previous Ruby Lucy Hotel project in Lower Marsh. The extension takes on a wholly different architectural form, this time a modern interpretation of a classical facade. Standing in contrast to the surrounding buildings the proposal continues the piecemeal nature of the historic streetscape along Lower Marsh Parade.

Brook Street Film
With our works on 73-75 Brook Street now complete, check out this promotional film created by our client Clivedale London, showcasing the finished building. As one of London’s finest business addresses this development in Mayfair provides over 31,000 sq/ft of flexible commercial space and luxury facilities. Our role as delivery architect saw the construction of the building and its interiors which, as the film displays, has been executed to the highest of standard.
Facade development in Scotland
Kyson have completed the refinement of a facade for a new hotel development in Scotland. Horizontal datum lines reflect a modern interpretation of the classical orders of architecture, with each datum providing a shift in elevational treatment as the number of windows increases. Angled soffits and side panels converge on their respective window frames to provide an increased level of depth and articulation to the elevation.
Design completed for a new home in Harrogate
Kyson have recently completed the concept design for a new replacement dwelling in Yorkshire. This project demonstrates how a new house can be exceptional in design quality whilst at all times showing respect to and understanding of the historic vernacular. To maintain the integrity of the surrounding historic building stock this proposal recognises its place along the timeline of history. Rather than seeking to emulate architecture of a time gone by, it is designed instead to be ‘of its time’; that is an innovative piece of architecture that reflects the identity of its local surroundings in a beautiful manner that remains true to its original intentions.
Minimalist design in a grade II listed Home
We are nearing completion of the renovation and extension of a Grade II listed home in North Hampstead originally designed by renowned Victorian architect Charles Quennell. This project has allowed us to explore the careful relationship between old and new, marrying together the historical features of the existing building with the minimalist detailing asked of us by the client. One of the most dramatic spaces in the house is that of the swimming pool located in the basement.
ITF Phase 2 now Complete
The second phase of our Grade II listed International Transport Worker’s Federation headquarters in Borough, London is now complete. The renovation of the historically sensitive building sees all new services subtly concealed within the existing structure to allow the original features to be celebrated such as the original Victorian steelwork with exposed riveting.

Studio Kyson are pleased to announce that John Chia and Krista Silina have both recently qualified as Architects following many years of study. Congratulations to you both for reaching this significant milestone.

MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT
Studio Kyson has been appointed to design an exciting mixed-use masterplan project in Tower Hamlets that incorporates commercial and retail units within a larger-scale residential development. A variety of concentric circular forms, informed by local landmarks, dictate the buildings’ footprints, and continue into the facade compositions. We look forward to sharing more as the project develops.
