PROJECT 508
Heath Drive, Hampstead
A sensitive refurbishment and extension of a Grade II listed family home in Hampstead, originally designed by C. H. B. Quennell in 1907. The project preserves and restores the architectural character of the original house while adapting it for contemporary family life.
Significant rooms and surviving historic features were carefully retained and restored, while later alterations were reconsidered to better reflect the original architectural language. Below ground, a new swimming pool provides a deliberate contrast to the historic interiors, adopting a restrained and elemental contemporary language shaped by material, proportion and natural light.
